Researchers in India are sounding the alarm over what they describe as a "new" disease dubbed “tomato flu” or “tomato fever.” Causing red blisters that can enlarge to the size of a small tomato, the cause of the contagious disease is currently unknown, although some researchers suspect it might be related to other diseases known to spread in the area.
Writing in the Lancet journal Respiratory Medicine, the trio of scientists reports that over 100 children younger than 5 years have fallen sick with the infection in the Indian states of Kerala and Odisha. After first being identified on May 6 in the Kollam district of Kerala, it’s since been reported in a number of villages in the state, as well as the city of Bhubaneswar in Odisha.
Kids with tomato fever are said to experience an array of flu-like symptoms, including fever and body aches, but the most prominent feature is “the eruption of red and painful blisters throughout the body that gradually enlarge to the size of a tomato.”
The report says that the disease is “very contagious”, although it appears to be non-life threatening and relatively mild, lasting seven to 10 days.
“At the moment it looks like the virus is mild and goes away on its own, but most people who have had this infection are young, and we don’t really know what might happen in an immunocompromised person or if it spreads to elderly people. At the moment it is still isolated and doesn’t appear to have spread beyond India," Professor Vasso Apostolopoulos, study author and Immunology & Translational Group Leader at Victoria University, said in a statement.
Tomato fever is diagnosed once tests have confirmed the infection is not dengue, chikungunya, Zika virus, varicella-zoster virus, or herpes. However, as the study points out, the symptoms could possibly be related to other diseases that aren’t being tested for, including hand, foot, and mouth disease.
Details on the disease are otherwise pretty thin. While public health bodies are keeping an eye on the spread of cases, scientists are yet to isolate and analyze the pathogen, which is absolutely vital if this mysterious infection is to be fully understood and controlled.
Until more is known, independent scientists say that people should remain calm but cautious.
“It is unclear if these outbreaks are caused by a single virus or more than one virus. Urgent laboratory testing and genotyping of any virus identified is therefore needed to confirm whether Tomato Flu is in fact a new virus,” commented Ashley Quigley, a Senior Research Associate in Global Biosecurity at the Kirby Institute at the University of New South Wales, who wasn’t involved in the report.
“In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, hypervigilance and improvement in surveillance techniques and reporting may be picking up more infections, however the long-term effects of COVID-19 could lead to an increase in illnesses in an already weakened immune system and so we need to be cautious until more is known about this infection," added Quigley.

Just wanted to report surprised at early signs of autumn here in New England. Yellow tips on younger trees and red on ground cover, pachysandra, but its in spotty areas. I believe it shows the stress vegetation is under. Local peaches are harvesting NOW in new England picked them myself at the farm. Checked on NOAA radar interesting to note ALL USA lakes and rivers have very high temps. Now why would water be hotter than surrounding land?! Not taught that in Geology class
There were some sunfish I like to visit in April are all gone, no fishermen at lake and cant find the frogs either. IT IS getting spooky out there looks like nowhere is going to spared the devastation that is coming. One world -one ocean- one people after all.

Hi Sara B.. yes I too live in New England, ,,, the MA area… and yes very high Jet Spraying activity… much damage to plants from the Ozone Layer destruction…one can see trees getting fried and losing their leaf cover starting from the top-down, outside in…makes so much sense as the inner leaves are protected at first… The Mega drought here, flash drought continues…. and the people go about their business as if it is normal… the Narrative continues supported by the weather-reporters… if the media says that it is ok, it must be ok… and your comment regarding God… this is not God's doing, God is not here to punish people, no, these are activities 100% -human caused, and catalyzed…. by human chemical spraying….#stopthespray….God created a very elegant eco-system, and the human race has interfered….-Paul

-It should be very easy these days to share information about this website. Everyday all over the planet we are having what media calls once in a lifetime drought or flood. This effects all of us who are alive.
I notice where I live maybe 4 or 5 years ago I used to see lady bugs , fireflys , dragon flys , bumble bees etc—monarch butterflies– now I see very little of these insects and some nothing.
It is important if you can to pick up informational flyers or business cards from this website and not hard to hand out to people that you meet etc.
My question to people in general -Do they think the weather is normal?
Southern France a catastrophic burning of leaves on the trees, as never seen before, even in the cities. I believe this has been labeled 'early autumn' due to extreme heat. And still the tourists come to bake on the beaches…….and eat and eat and eat. Very soon nothing will be left to eat even the organic veg in the farmers markets show signs of burn. The only semi healthy plant life surviving are the 'oh so pretty gmo flowers' placed around villages to brighten a sad burnt landscape landscape.

No one seems to notice there. The mountains are beautiful but the lovely city has only small parks within concrete and few people look 'up'! So glad you are here on GEW! Am watching the upper level water vapor loop on COD website. An unusual upper level low over the ocean is coming in to the W coast of N CA and S OR. Weather forecaster's this morning in our area changed the forecast saying there is now a chance of afternoon thunderstorms in N CA and S OR. Once this system gets close to the coast the wind will begin to pickup and blow from the W which is going affect the fires currently burning. Small Craft Advisory now up off the N CA coast all the way down to Cambria, CA. Heads up!
As I said in the above post, thunderstorm cells formed this afternoon, though widely scattered, and the wind blowing from the W is affecting the fires, especially the fire near Waldo Lake. Smoke is filling the lowlands E of the fire and air quality is quite bad. Can be seen on the satellite images. Nothing showing on the AQI monitors in the area though. Hope the fire doesn't start spot fires because of the wind. All hooked up and ready to get out of here early in the morning, or tonight if need be.
Air quality here at the RV park S of Sun River, OR, and the surrounding area as far as the eyes can see is not good. Smoke from fires already burning to the S and SW of here, plus from 4 now burning N of the North Umpqua River, is filling the air. What's in the smoke? Most of you posting info on this webite know! Constantly having to clear my throat now and it burns the eyes. Yet, people are out jogging, playing pickle ball, riding bikes, etc. as if everything is just fine and dandy! Oh, and by the way, did you know that the NNSA is going ahead with their plans to keep on producing plutonium cores for nuclear weapons at the Los Alamos and Savanah River sites? Yuval Noah Harari was recently on "The Ted Interview." Yuval is a top World Economic Council advisor. He is a lecturer of history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Impressive credentials!
Yuval stated that the world does not need the vast majority of the population . He stated that "common people" are no longer a part of the story of the future. AI would eliminate the need for most. On a positive note, he said that the new jobs that would open up would be more interesting than in the 20th century. A silver lining!

Mostly self-isolated (nursing a sprained ankle), in a small rural community that is focused on 'senior needs' in a positive way, yet there are few who reach beyond their close local church groups for information. I'm sharing GeoengineeringWatch information whenever the opportunity presents itself. We have received very little rain all summer. Vegetarian seems healthy and lawns are green~ I suspect due to the high humidity and continuous cloud cover. I took photos of constant 'Lines of Spraying' from different directions last week. They are creating consistent cloud cover and building faux Thunderstorm Clouds with little or no rain. This morning we had a brief period of the ionospheric heater microwaved odd lightning and some thunder and 20 minutes of rain that coats everything with a slippery light thin 'oil type' feeling. There's never 'real' wind so that 'weather just happens' and then moves out. I apologize for the unscientific description but it continues to play out exactly as Dane has been describing for decades! I've followed the Alert News since around 2018. You are a Miracle Messenger! Dane – whenever I think of the words "We Are The Disclosure" – You and your family are at the top of the list! I think it is a good idea supposed pictures of people wearing the t-shirts. I believe that it will help encourage others to get more involved. I wore mine the other day at a concert. While I was there, I connected with a group of people there from peace and planet news dot com. I later contacted the editorial board of this organization to reach out to them with information from geoengineeringwatch.org. Some of their focus overlaps with geoengineering watch.org. The person who runs the organization was very interested and learning more about geo engineeringwatch.org and replied to me that he was sending out all the links that I gave him to many others in the organization. Networking like this may be helpful. We never know how many other people might be contacted through the contacts that we make with people. This particular group is also in contact with a high profile political activist who has some interests that may also overlap with Geo Watch. I asked him if he would please forward the things that I sent to him to this individual. Who knows what kind of synergy may come out of this? People can go to this website and contact him as well. I continue to send these weekly broadcast links to the chief meteorologist at our local weather station. I never hear any reply from her but hope that she is paying attention to them. He's doing

Tent Cities Are Taking Over Vast Stretches Of Our Major Cities (And It's Only Going To Get Worse) | ZeroHedge

If brighter days are ahead for the U.S. economy, why are so many tent cities popping up all over the nation? At this point things are so bad that even the New York Times is admitting that “America’s homelessness problem has the makings of an acute crisis”. That article goes on to explain that our homeless population is steadily rising. Tonight, hundreds of thousands of our fellow Americans will be sleeping in tents, under bridges, in overcrowded shelters or in their vehicles. Of course there are many that are so addicted to drugs or alcohol that they just sleep wherever they end up passing out. This is a tragedy that is growing with each passing day, and it is only going to get worse in the months ahead as the U.S. economy slows down even more.
Earlier today, I was truly stunned by a Fox News article about what is going on in Portland right now. Tent cities are literally taking over entire neighborhoods, and many residents are “resorting to selling their homes” as a result…
Residents in a Portland, Oregon, neighborhood are resorting to selling their homes and moving due to homeless encampments right outside their front doors.
“It’s a little scary because I know there is mental illness and that concerns me,” North Portland resident Maria Inocencio told KGW8.
Residents of North Portland said at least three families on one street have left in recent days due to the homeless camps, and KGW8 reported seeing for-sale signs up and down streets.
Portland was once such a beautiful place, but now it has literally been transformed into a hellhole.
Needless to say, Portland is far from alone. From Seattle all the way down to San Diego, communities all along the west coast are being plagued by relentlessly growing encampments. In many cases, such encampments are magnets for drug addicts and other societal outcasts.
But this is not just a west coast problem.
Let me give you are couple of examples. In recent weeks, tent cities have been popping up all over Pittsburgh…
“We want immediate action. We want to see people in homes. There’s a humane way to deal with homelessness,” said Pittsburgh City Council president Theresa Kail-Smith.
Homeless camps are popping up all over the Northside.
You’ll see them on the Riverfront Trail to Millvale.
Another makeshift tent city popped up underneath the Andy Warhol Bridge.
And in Fayetteville, North Carolina one burgeoning homeless camp recently made news because it features quite a few registered sex offenders…
There are 843 registered sex offenders living in Cumberland County. For dozens in Fayetteville, their home is a tent alongside the road.

Putin Warns Macron "Large-Scale Catastrophe" Looms At Ukraine Nuclear Plant | ZeroHedge
Bloomberg has given the latest damage update Friday as follows: "Already only two of six reactors at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant are operating, potentially leaving Ukraine’s electricity grid facing collapse this winter, with the crisis spilling into neighboring European Union energy markets."
"Europe’s biggest atomic-energy station, Zaporizhzhia has in recent weeks been hit by shelling, with Ukraine and Russia blaming each other," the report continues. "Explosions wrecked infrastructure and cables critical for cooling atomic reactions and transmitting power."
The Kremlin has meanwhile alleged that Ukraine is planning a "false flag provocation" at Zaporizhzhia, even specifying something is being planned for Friday. There are unconfirmed reports being circulated that the Russian military even told local plant workers who are keeping it running to stay home Friday.

Germany's Largest Refinery Slashes Output Due To Rhine's Low Water Levels | ZeroHedge
The current water levels on the Rhine River, a major inland infrastructure transit artery across Germany, are exceptionally low and have made certain parts of the river impassible by barge. Falling waters have already disrupted the flow of commodities and are exacerbating Europe's energy-supply crunch.
The alarming lack of water is contributing to a possible oil supply shock at Germany's largest oil-processing complex located on the banks of the Rhine, which is operated by Shell Plc.
"Due to the low Rhine water level, we have reduced the capacity of Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rhineland. The situation regarding supply is challenging but carefully managed," the company said in an e-mailed statement to Reuters.
